Mother Earth: 9 Projects, 1,000+ Acres, One Vision for Sustainable Living

Mother Earth was founded in 2015 with a simple and a powerful belief that land is not merely an asset to be bought and sold. But it is a living inheritance that nurtures families, communities and future generations. Mother Earth Farmlands, from Mother Earth Builders & Developers, was created to redefine farmland ownership in India. When managed farmland was still a new term, Mother Earth put it into practice on the ground and has done so for over a decade.
Today, the company has 9+ projects, over 1,000 acres developed and more than 1,000 satisfied clients. Beyond these numbers is a deeper purpose: thoughtfully planned, professionally managed communities that help urban families reconnect with nature, and give them a long-term asset that grows in value and meaning with time.
How the Model Works
Mother Earth develops farmland that combines sustainable agriculture, land appreciation and a nature-based lifestyle. Many families now want more than a weekend escape. They want a place to relax and build memories.
The managed farmland model is built for this. It uses scientific plantation practices, professional farm management and transparent ownership. Buyers own agricultural land without managing it day to day. The land stays productive, and owners can pass it on to the next generation.
The company is led by Mr. Chandrappa, Founder & CEO, and Mrs. Poornima Chandrappa, Managing Director & Co-founder. Their view is that land development should benefit the owner, the environment and the community equally.
“Our vision has always been to look beyond land as a transaction and build it as a living ecosystem. An ecosystem that creates enduring value for owners, empowers rural communities and restores our relationship with nature. At Mother Earth, we are not just developing farmland; we are shaping a sustainable legacy for the next generation.”
— Mr. Chandrappa, Founder & CEO, Mother Earth Builders & Developers
“What truly defines our journey is the trust of over 1,000 families who have chosen Mother Earth. Every project we deliver is measured not just in acres developed, but in the confidence our buyers place in us; their belief in transparent ownership, professional management and the long-term value we create together.”
— Mrs. Poornima Chandrappa, Managing Director & Co-founder, Mother Earth Builders & Developers
Sandalwood Springs Phase 2: The Next Chapter
Mother Earth’s latest milestone, Sandalwood Springs Phase 2, beautifully reflects the brand’s evolution and vision. Set amidst the scenic landscapes of the MM Hills region near Hanur–Kollegal, this premium 300+ acre gated farmland destination brings together the heritage of sandalwood cultivation, ecological stewardship and modern managed farmland living.
Located in an authentic sandalwood-growing belt and rooted in a legacy dating back to the Mysore Maharaja era, the Sandalwood Springs offers individually owned 1-acre and half-acre farm plots in a region known for its well-drained soils and favourable climate for Santalum album. The project features a scientifically designed multi-layer agroforestry system, intercropping with fruit and support species for early income, drip irrigation, internal roads, solar fencing and complete professional management from plantation to harvesting.
Beyond cultivation, Sandalwood Springs embraces a larger purpose. It aims to support carbon storage, encourage biodiversity and promote responsible land management. Families can unwind at the clubhouse, enjoy a swim or spend quiet moments in the yoga spaces. Camping areas and party lawns offer room to gather and reconnect with nature. The project also combines two potential sources of income: long-term value from sandalwood and shorter-term earnings from intercrops. Together, these bring farming and leisure into one setting.
A Greener Legacy for Generations
Mother Earth’s approach brings together farmland development, cultivation and a focus on sustainability. It also reflects an interest in staying connected to the land, whether through farming, family time or life outside the city.
As the company grows, the longer-term measure of its approach will be how well these spaces are managed.
